    Miss Indiana Katie Stam Crowned Miss America 2009

    Katie Stam from Seymour, IN, and an University of Indiana student was crowned Miss America 2009. Stam drew loud applause for her rendition of "Via Dolorosa" during the talent portion of the pageant at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Miss Georgia, Chasity Hardman was runner-up!
