The X-Files Blew It

Sure Scully and Mulder were good at bothering a shadowy government, but they let a lot of monsters get away.

A Random Bayside Student's Letter To College

I have been rewatching Saved By The Bell (because it's on Netflix and I can't watch Buffy again) and coupled that by listening to "Go Bayside" - a hilarious podcast hosted by April Richardson (you should go back to the start and re-listen to all of the episodes). Anyways, there are other students besides Zack, Kelly, Slater, Lisa, Jessie, and that a-hole Screech that went to the Bayside High. And as far as we can tell, they had dreams! They wanted to do things! They would have wanted to go to college. But they were probably turned down because their extracurricular activities were shanghaied by six students.

Don't Become A Statistic, Don't Say "Murica"/"Merica"

Out of all the terrible additions to our vernacular the internet has helped popularize, "Murica" is by far the worst. Mostly because it combines the worst of everything. I would rather live in a world where people only laughed by saying "LOL" or ended every statement with people saying "hashtag" than hear anyone actually say "murica"

An Etiquette To Spoilers

The problem with media today is that everyone has an outlet for everything. At all times. And always. It's a problem because some people cannot get to an episode, movie, book, etc. at the same rate as everyone else (they have "lives" or something like that). It's a problem because some people like to spoil things. Others like to simply share their every thought on social media. It's a problem because great works are being ruined. So I'm going to go through the type of people who spoil and then the responsible time between when something starts and when we should write about it.

If They Made More Shows Out Of Commercials

In 2007 we all dodged a cultural bullet. Based on the popularity of the Geico cavemen, a show "Cavemen" was created. It lasted 8 episodes before mercifully being pulled. It was terrible (despite Nick Kroll and Sam Huntington being involved). And that seemed to scare everyone from making TV shows out of commercials (like how "Joey" scared everyone out of spinoffs or how "Batman & Robin" scared everyone from comic book movies). However, if it had succeeded, these are the shows we would have to put up with today:

The "You" From Carly Simon's "You're So Vain" Is A Good Guy...

O, the mysterious “you” from Carly Simon’s “You’re so vain” ranks up there with the identity of Banksy in terms of pop culture’s biggest mysteries. Simon’s even auctioned off the identity after having the highest bidder swear to secrecy since it is supposedly someone famous who was involved with Simon. While the “you” remains a mystery, many people have put several faces to this non-name. “you” has come under fire by anyone so scorned that they need to go to facebook to snipe at this anonymous menace. “you” has stood for every pompous narcissistic sonofabitch that has ever wronged us with their arrogance and seemingly callous ways. But is he so bad?

Cheering For Canada To Win In Hockey Is Like Cheering For...

This past week, Team Canada left with gold medals in both Men and Women's hockey. This would be amazing if they were not heavily favored to win. They had the superior team and it showed. Everyone thinks Canadians are so nice and so polite. But it is all a ruse. They are really ruthless and cold hearted. So for everyone who hates happy endings, underdogs, and all that is good, here is a list of other things you probably believe:
