Tell Us About The Toughest Friendship Lesson You Learned Later In Life, And How It Impacted You

Just because a friendship ended doesn't mean it was gone to waste.

Maintaining a friendship with someone takes a lot of work. And sometimes, even when you try to make a friendship last, it doesn't turn out the way you had hoped.

But even if the friendship ended differently then you anticipated, perhaps there was a lesson you learned from the situation. So with that in mind, we would love to know: What was the hardest adult friendship lesson you've learned so far?

Maybe you learned that you didn't have to change who you were to build an authentic connection with someone. Or maybe you learned how important it is to communicate your boundaries and needs from the start so others don't take advantage of you.

Or perhaps you realized, after the fact, that forcing a friendship to work is sometimes just not the answer — no matter how long the two of you have known each other.

If you've been through this, do you have any regrets about how things turned out? Was there anything surprising you want others to know — in case they're going through something similar right now?

While these friendship lessons might've been difficult to learn, hopefully they've gave you some wisdom that you can bring with you into your other relationships.
