2. A series of Unfortunate Events (the series, not the movie)

On January, Friday the 13th (of course), a childhood favorite came to life! That is, the Netflix premiere of all seven of 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' books. Did you relive a bit of your childhood?

4. The Young Pope

It's not historical fiction. It might be satire and it's definitely fiction. But this show of Jude Law as the Young Pope will strike you with its aesthetic beauty. Creator Paolo Sorrentino is well known for the surreal scenes and vibrant colors on the screen.

6. The Get Down

Myles Aronowitz

So if you haven't watched this already you need to! The Get Down depicts the daily life of boy embarking on his rap career right around the time when rap was first becoming popular in the 70s.

7. Sherlock

A modernized series of adaptations of the Sherlock Holmes novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. John Watson (played by Martin Freeman), an army doctor, is wounded in Afghanistan and invalided out of the Army. Back in London his search for a place to stay leads him to share a flat with Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch), a brilliant but eccentric private detective. Together they solve baffling, and often bizarre, murder mysteries. They also have to compete with Holmes' nemesis, the criminal genius Moriarty.

8. Dexter

Dexter Morgan, Miami Metro Police Department blood spatter analyst, has a double life. When he's not helping the Homicide division solving murders, he spends his time hunting and killing bad guys that slip through the justice system. He spends his sun-drenched days solving crimes - and moonlit nights committing them.

9. Schitt's Creek

This show is hilarious and available on Netflix! Here is the blurb: "In CBC's sitcom "Schitt's Creek," a wealthy couple -- video store magnate Johnny and his soap opera star wife Moira -- suddenly find themselves completely broke. With only one remaining asset, a small town called Schitt's Creek, which the Roses bought years earlier as a joke, this once-wealthy couple must give up life as they know it."

10. Bob's Burgers

A classic! Also available on Netflix. Here is the blurb: "Bob Belcher is a third-generation restaurateur who runs Bob's Burgers with his loving wife and their three children. Bob believes his burgers speak for themselves and isn't afraid to offer a variety of off-beat creations."
