if the min wage is too low what do you propose it should be? I never see recommendations for that. “increasing min wage is the only way to bring those up for all of us.”. And the corporations and CEOs wont adjust their scales as well? Proportionally, you aren’t going to see much difference. Even after you raise it, by definition people making min wage will always be making the “minimum.” The point is that we need to reevaluate what “enough to live on” means. Cell phones, cable, and the like don’t fall in that category. Rent/insurance, groceries, electricity, and transport to work to make the $$. That’s the “minimum” you need to live.
If the $8.75 holds true - then the amount $1105 for the first job comes out to 31 hrs/wk. That’s part time. How is McD pointing out that an employee working part time would need to work a second job terrible? Isn’t that the purpose of a budget and a “financial tool?” And if the min wage is too low what do you propose it should be? I never see recommendations for that.
