As a Muslim, this enrages me. Fear sells, and Rolling Stone unfortunately bought into that and is preying on the fear of Muslims to make money and harbor attention.
Sure, they may not have had bad intentions; sure, the actual article may show us something different… But there’s something Rolling Stone is in dire need of, something called emotional intelligence.
Think of the effect such a cover could have on the victims, think of the effect it could have on Muslims who wish to live peacefully and wish for the hatred and bigotry to stop, think of the effect such a cover could have on the idea of terrorists and terrorism in general.
