5 Things You'll Understand If You're In A Long Distance Relationship

Me and my boyfriend starting dating back in 2013, but have been in an LDR for 2 years.

1. Skype is your best friend

Because we're not with each other, obviously, we would like to communicate through Skype. We Skype almost everyday after we are done with our classes. Our conversations can last either 5 minutes or 5 hours, it just depends on the day. No matter how long the time is, I still make it an effort to talk on Skype, just because I want to see his face:)

2. You'll spend a lot of money to see each other...but it's worth it

Me and my boyfriend see each other about 4 times a year. We usually see each other on our (different timed) spring breaks, my birthday, and Thanksgiving. I don't always spend money, but when I do, it's to see my boyfriend. Yes, it can get expensive, but at least I'm a travel expert now (hehe).

3. You have a lot of "me" time

Yes, being in an LDR sucks, but you have a lot of time to focus on yourself, and grow as a person. Sometimes being around the same person everyday can ware you out, but in an LDR, you have a lot of time and space to yourself. Also, no distractions when it comes to studies.

4. It feels like the first time all over again

Me and my boyfriend go months without seeing each other, so when we finally do, the honeymoon phase occurs multiple times. Every time I see him, as corny as this sounds, I literally want to hold him forever and not let go. Especially since we only see each other for only a week or so at a time.

5. You'll try to find an activity to do together

The thing that me and boyfriend do is watch shows online together. For example, our two main shows we watch, are Shameless, and Orange is the New Black. What we do is, we Skype, then we go to the show, and then press play at the same time. Although we're not physically together, we still have a ball watching it.
