Kitchen gadgetry has come a long way. But when it comes to making immensely delicious, simple, comforting home-cooked meals, I don't think there's anything better than the Crock-Pot.

(Having a photoshoot with your slow-cooker at 10 a.m. is actually a wonderful way to start the day, I highly recommend it.)
Slow cooking is inarguably the best kind of cooking, BUT making time to dote on a bubbling dish on the stove all day is just...not it. The Crock-Pot allows you to dump in all of your ingredients in the morning, go about your business all day, and then sit down to the most amazing meal you've ever made eight hours later after barely lifting a finger.
^Take that pork, for example. In the morning, I threw a pork roast, garlic, onion, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, honey, ground ginger, gochugaru, and some stock in the Crock-Pot and eight hours later was greeted with tender, shreddy goodness.
I have a 6-quart Crock-Pot and we always have SO many leftovers. So all my meal planning-heads: This is a fantastic way to yield simple, delectable dishes for the week.

I'm not the only one who loves this timeless appliance — check out all these promising reviews!
"Best product I ever bought. Easy to use and clean. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. Food comes out soft and tender, meat falls of the bone. Great for soups, too." —Amazon Customer
"I suck at cooking, but when I cook with this thing it comes out like I'm a master chef or something. I put all the stuff in the pot in the morning before work, come back to an awesome 'home cooked' meal that's really cheap!" —Noah
"I typically buy something, use it once, and don't use it again for years. THIS, however, has been a wonder and I've made at least 15–20 meals thus far. I put in all the ingredients, turn it on low, and forget about it until the amazing aroma fills the air. I've had fantastic meals that I've repeated because it's effortless. Set it and forget it...until you get to eat it haha. Great buy!" —Jen
If you don't eat meat, there are also tons of vegetarian and vegan recipes you can try — soups and chilis, galore! Pick up a cookbook like The Super Easy Vegan Slow Cooker Cookbook for some inspiration!
Promising review: "Such an awesome cookbook! Every time I make something out of this book my husband says it's the best vegan dish he's ever tasted. It's simple enough for everyday dishes but not too simple that it's boring. I've never been a person who likes to cook which is why I LOVE slow cooking. I put everything in the pot at noon and dinner is ready at 7, and I'm relaxing. I also love the budget friendly options. This book has changed the way I grocery shop! I buy frozen veggies, dry beans, spices, potatoes and boom, dinners for days! Buy this book, you won't regret it." —Katie

And it may look difficult to clean, but think again! The stoneware insert and lid are dishwasher-safe, but even when I've lived in apartments without a dishwasher, I haven't had much trouble getting stuck-on food out of there. As for the shiny exterior, a simple wipe-down should suffice!

So what are you waiting for! Snap up a Crock-Pot and get cookin'! Get it from Amazon for $22.02+ (available in 3-quart–8-quart sizes).
