This lighthouse has been around since 1874, so it's had lots of time to become haunted! Notable ghosts include giggling little girls and the "man in blue." St. Augustine is also the oldest city in the US, so there's no shortage of historical — and potentially ghostly — sites to see!

As if this maze-like mansion with its staircase to nowhere wasn't scary enough on its own, it's also said to be haunted! Notable ghosts include the "wheelbarrow ghost" and, of course, Sarah Winchester herself.

This iconic hotel is instantly recognizable with its dramatic mountain scenery. From a hedge maze to underground tunnels, there's no shortage of creepy spots to check out at the Stanley. Steven King's stay here inspired _The Shining_, so who knows what spooky inspiration will come to you!

This former prison opened in 1829 and housed famous inmates such as Al Capone and "Slick Willie" Sutton. Nowadays, the prison is a haunted attraction, and even converts to a massive haunted house for Halloween.

Head to Eastern State Penitentiary in Pennsylvania!

The sight of two grizzly axe murders that caused a frenzy and mystery around the culprit. In fact, these murders are so infamous that they have their own song. Now, the house is a bed and breakfast. Creepy!
