Sununu Says Low Turnout Means Republicans Are Satisfied With Romney

Former Gov. John Sununu, Mitt Romney’s Top MSNBC surrogate — and really, the best surrogate around — batted back at claims by Democrats that low primary turnout is a sign of an unenthused Republican electorate.

“In an odd sense, when turnout is down, it means contrary to what you’re hearing from people, people are satisfied with the candidate that’s winning.”

Sununu also took on Newt Gingrich, who claims the low turnout equals a rejection of Romney.

“This is wishful thinking on the part of the Gingrich campaign … He is absolutely down. His news conference [on Saturday] was an unbelievable rambling of a candidate who expresses the rationale of being unable to be president.”
