I Ate A Free Bagel Every Day For A Month

Panera filled a bagel sized hole in my breakfast that I didn't know I had

I am the girl that has a “Food” folder in my phone that includes apps from every restaurant that I go to and more. I love a good deal! I also love not having any human interaction when ordering and picking up food.

There are a lot of good deals out there for free nuggets, free birthday drinks, buy one get one burgers, the list goes on and on. However, there’s one deal that is the best deal of all deals….Panera’s Free Bagels for a Month.

Panera chooses Rewards Members at random to get a free bagel every single day of the month. Last month, I was honored to be chosen.

I can be pretty competitive whether it comes to driving, playing 8 Ball with friends on my phone, or completing a task before the microwave dings. I had to make this a challenge. I was going to get every single free bagel that Panera had to offer me.

Before I started this challenge, I thought it would be so easy. I watched my friends have this reward in the past and was so jealous! Free breakfast for a month? There’s nothing better!

I was wrong.

You can see that I was super excited about the bagels my first few days into this challenge.

(If you ask for your bagel bread-sliced, you get a little of the topping on every slice. Shoutout to my St. Louis friends for that tip!)

Some days I got bagels on my way to work and some days I would get it on my way home and give the bagel to someone in my family.

On the weekends, if I wasn’t close to a Panera, I’d have my friend get the bagel from the closest Panera to her. Both of us were lucky on two different days to get TWO free bagels!

Panera’s customer service is great!

I felt guilty getting free bagels from them every day, so I would do Rapid Pick-Up to cut down on that guilty feeling.

Once, I ordered a Cinnamon Crunch Bagel from my phone; however, they were out and didn’t update the app. They called me and asked me if I wanted another bagel and then gave me two!

The only issue is that I was pretty tired of bagels by then.

This picture was taken on Day 18, but I was pretty much over bagels by Day 10.

It was a few days before then that it really hit me how slow the month was going and how many bagels I had left.

This was Day 16.

But I pushed through, I had breakfast almost every day instead of skipping that meal altogether, and I didn’t lose my love for Panera (which I was terrified would happen)!
