Brisbane got a whole heap cooler in March with the arrival of cult gelateria, Messina. With 40 epic flavours, plus five limited edition scoops on rotation at any time, you're spoiled for choice. It's open until 11pm Sunday to Thursday, and 11.30pm on the weekends. So skip the bar and make a gelato date with bae.

9. Moonlight Cinema, New Farm

There's nothing better to do on balmy summer evenings in Brissie than kicking back in New Farm Park, catching an al fresco flick. Moonlight Cinema runs from December to March and you can BYO food and well-mannered pooch, but check your booze at the door. (Fear not: It's licensed.)
