This is Jon Wurster. He's best known as the drummer for the indie rock bands Superchunk and The Mountain Goats.
He's also one of the funniest men alive and has been crafting hilarious bits with his partner Tom Scharpling on the beloved podcast The Best Show since the Clinton administration.
Jon is also the curator of one of the most hilarious Instagram accounts in the world, where he collects images of absurd signs, shops, and products that he finds in his travels around the world, or are sent to him by his fans.
Earlier this year he started collecting and posting strange and/or awful vanity license plates with the hashtag #platehate17.
They get pretty gross.
And outright disturbing.
Sure, there's some goofy puns...
...and sometimes it's just a matter of clarifying a common misconception.
But it's mostly just extremely cringe-inducing.
Like, you have to pay extra for this. You need to fill out forms.
And you have to assume you get pulled over a lot more often with a license plate that says ENRAGED, right?
But sometimes you just have to make sure people know you're NOT POOR.
And hey, these are people living their lives, doing their own thing. This is worth celebrating, even if "MOM4RNT" and "DZZNTZZ" aren't exactly what we'd normally consider to be tasteful declarations of individuality.
If you've got your own pictures of questionable vanity plates, you should pass them along to Wurster. With your help, this could be an exhaustive archive of plates 2 CREAM 4.
