While I used to care about putting together outfits and how I looked and all that, I've completely optimized my closet for comfort. Of the many things I've bought, these are the items that I come back to over and over again because they are the softest and stretchiest.

1. This no-wire bra is my new obsession in both the comfort and looks department.

There's no underwire, but the shape of the bra and the seamed sides keep things from, you know, moving around unnecessarily. It's also just simple and cute and a very complementary shade of red.

2. I actually own this balloon sleeve knit sweater in three different colors.

This is the only wooly sweater that I don't have to wear an undershirt with because of its softness. It's also slightly cropped and very flattering. I've managed to purchase this sweater multiple seasons over multiple years both from Asos and from the Weekday store, which has locations all over Europe.

3. Gap's BREATHE underwear line are the comfiest everyday undies.

I threw out all of my underwear and replaced them with these high-waisted briefs. They are incredibly soft and breathable (hence the name!).

4. Commando opaque black tights are the only tights I enjoy wearing.

At $36, they are a bit of a splurge but WORTH IT as these are the only tights I've found that don't make me feel like a segmented worm. The high stretchy waistband means I can eat a giant meal without feeling constrained around my belly. Plus the fabric is thick and durable — I've never ripped a pair despite wearing them for many winters.

5. This low-back bralette from Free People is made out of a magically stretchy fabric.

It's made from a soft, super stretchy material that literally feels like you're wearing nothing at all. The stretchiness holds you in (but might not work for anything bigger than a C cup). The reviews also say that the straps break, but I haven't found this to be the case (yet).

6. This fleecy jacket from the North Face makes me feel like I'm wearing my favorite robe in public.

I actually got the Boys' Hampshire version because it was a little cheaper and I liked the shape better. It is monumentally soft and cozy, and you won't be able to stop petting yourself.

You can get one from Dick's Sporting Goods for $99-$119 (available in sizes XS-XXXL and 18 (!!!) colors).

7. Nylon socks from We Love Colors are soft and thin, and I own them in almost every color.

The material is thin but breathable, the colors are really vibrant, and the cuffs don't cut off my leg circulation like a lot of socks tend to do.

8. I got these random sneakers at Target before an impromptu hike.

The hike didn't end up happening, but I'm so glad I had a reason to buy these shoes! These shoes are basically made out of some kind of stretchy lycra. It's like if shoes were leggings, I guess.

9. This nightgown, also from Target, feels like you've already lived in it for five years.

There is one thing I don't like about this nightgown, which is that the buttonholes have gotten a little loose. But other than that, I love that it's one piece that I can just throw on, and the fabric is soft and cozy enough for cold weather months, yet light enough for summer.

10. This Madewell coveralls/boiler suit getup is my lazy girl outfit that looks like I'm actually trying.

I got mine on sale for $79 (you might have to check periodically as they are normally $175) but I love that there is no waistband on this thing.

11. Buck Mason's pima cotton t-shirts are just the right thickness and softness.

OK, normally, I would not pay more than $6 for a t-shirt. There is just something wonderfully worn-in about the Buck Mason tees, and the colors are so lovely and earthy.

12. I wear these Ikkii boots all winter, which you can find at various price points if you're a good online shopping sleuther.

I got mine at Yoox a hundred million years ago, but you can still get them at various places like Nordstrom's (at a fairly outrageous $375) as well as Alex and Alexa for $140. They are pretty much like wearing extremely warm slippers on your feet, and you get all the coziness of Uggs without the...basic girl flack, idk, lol. They also work perfectly as snow shoes.

Get them from Alex and Alexa for $131-$150 in a variety of colors in sizes 30EU-35EU.

13. I wear these "sweatpants" from Outdoor Voices, like, 90% of the time when I'm at home, and at least 10% of the time when I'm not.

They aren't really thick and fleecy the way sweatpants normally are, but rather a smooth and luxuriously soft jersey-style fabric that makes me literally forget that I'm wearing anything on my bottom half. They are also the perfect airplane pants.

14. Everlane's French terry sweatpants are just as comfy, and I'm about to buy another pair as we speak.
