Viola Davis Will Play Michelle Obama In The TV Drama "First Ladies," And People Are Like, "Yep, That Checks Out"

"Viola Davis as Michelle Obama is going to be the best performance of the year."

Viola Davis will reportedly play former (but forever my) FLOTUS Michelle Obama in an upcoming TV drama, and I honestly can't think of a better casting decision!!!

According to Deadline, the one-hour Showtime series First Ladies will explore the personal and political lives of various first ladies and take place in the East Wing of the White House where the FLOTUS and her staff are traditionally based.

Viola's also putting on her executive producer hat for this project, which is partly backed by her and her husband Julius Tennon's JuVee Productions company. "Proud to spotlight these brave, extraordinary women!" she wrote on Instagram.

It goes without saying — but imma say it anyways — people are ALLLLLLLL the way here for this casting decision.

.@violadavis as Michelle Obama is going to be the BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR.

Viola Davis and Michelle Obama are both extremely talented, accomplished, history-making pioneers who also happen to have seriously sculpted arms and beautiful, highly melanated complexions. So, this pairing is seriously a match made in Black Jesus heaven.
