The Best Coachella Story Actually Happened Outside Of The Festival, And It Involves Kid Cudi And Popeyes Chicken

"Honestly our clients were thrilled to have some good old-fashioned great tasting fried chicken and shocked that a celebrity like Kid Cudi would think of us."

Morning, folks! If you're ready for some feel good news, raise your sequin-gloved hand, like Kid Cudi here:

Excellent! Well, speaking of Kid Cudi, he was one of the many famous music folk who performed at Coachella this past weekend. But it's what the rap legend/actor did the day before his set that's been making headlines since the Cali festival's finish.

According to the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission Facebook page, Kid Cudi donated $10,000 worth of Popeyes fried chicken and side dishes to the local emergency shelter via Postmates last Friday. "Now this is downright dope!" read the post's caption.

The mission reportedly houses 150+ women, men, and children experiencing homelessness, hunger, and life challenges.

"Honestly our clients were thrilled to have some good old-fashioned great tasting fried chicken and shocked that a celebrity like Kid Cudi would think of us," Vicky Cox, CVRM housing specialist, told Desert Sun. "It’s just so out of the ordinary for us."

"I have read some negative comments how this is a short fix or unhealthy food. But people completely underestimate the healing power of a random act of kindness given with love and sacrifice," Cox added. "I know our clients and staff were encouraged that someone of Kid Cudi’s status would even consider us. We are a little astounded, dumbfounded, but truly grateful. It was just fun for us and the warm feeling of thankfulness will probably last quite a while."

OK. Hope your heart's been sufficiently warmed! <3
