Kitchen tools needed:

  • 9x13-inch baking dishes
  • Mixing bowls
  • Silicone spatula
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons

PREPARATION:

  1. Brownies: Preheat oven to 350oF. Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment and grease well with cooking spray.
  2. Pour melted butter in a large bowl. Whisk in sugar and vanilla extract. Add eggs one at a time, whisking well between each of them. Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Whisk batter until no flour streaks remain. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

  3. Bake for 30–35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. Let brownies cool completely before cutting.
  4. Blondies: Preheat oven to 350oF. Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment and grease well with cooking spray.
  5. In a large bowl, mix together the brown sugar, melted butter, and vanilla. Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well between each of them. Fold in the flour, salt, and baking powder. Fold in the chocolate chips. Evenly spread the batter out in the prepared baking dish. Bake blondies for 18–20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. Let blondies cool completely before cutting.
  6. Ice cream: Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment. Remove ice cream from freezer and let it defrost for 10 minutes. Scoop ice cream into the baking dish and use a spatula to spread it into a smooth, flat layer. Refreeze ice cream. When ready to make ice cream sandwiches, cut ice cream into squares matching the brownie size.
  7. Toppings: Place all the topping in individual bowls. Place brownies and blondies on platters. Set out the ice cream bars. Allow guests to mix and match the toppings to make their own brownie sundaes and brownie ice cream sandwiches.
