A Lot Of People Are In Open Relationships. What Do People Get Wrong About Them?

It's not always about sex.

Romantic relationships aren't a one-size-fits-all kind of deal. Some couples thrive on monogamy, while others feel that an open relationship is what works best for them.

Currently, there still seems to be a lot of judgment surrounding open relationships that stems from myths or misconceptions about what they really are or how they actually function.

An "Open" sign

So for those who have been in a healthy open relationship or are in one now, what are some things people often get wrong about your relationship?

Perhaps you want people to know that this isn't just a form of cheating, and involves a lot of communication and trust in your partner.

Or maybe you're sick of others assuming you're just "sex-crazed" and you're not getting enough of it from your current partner. Hell, maybe being open is never even about the sex for you at all.

Perhaps you're tired of others assuming that open relationships can't be healthy and you're just "stuck" in this current relationship, when nonmonogamy has, in fact, only strengthened your relationship.
