This Man Is Making An Animated Film Celebrating Black Fathers And It's Going To Be So Good

    I'm not crying, you're crying.

With recent heartwarming viral videos of black fathers doing their daughters hair swarming the internet, filmmaker, Matthew Cherry, was inspired to do a short animated film celebrating black fathers.

The film is called, Hair Love, and it explores the relationship between Stephen and his daughter, Zuri.

Even though Stephen has long locks, he struggles with doing his daughter's hair for the first time. Eventually, we learn that her kinks and curls have a mind of their own, becoming their own character in the story.

Matthew's goal is to bring more representation for black people in animation and showcase a positive example of what black fatherhood looks like.
