    Immigration Bill Clears Major Senate Hurdle (So It Can Die In The House)

    The Senate's immigration bill cleared another hurdle Monday night when an amendment to the bill itself passed the chamber. That amendment, which concerns beefed-up border security, is considered a test of whether the bill itself has enough support to clear the Senate. At which point, of course, the bill would still have to get through the GOP-controlled House.
