    Egyptian Military Appoints Temporary Leader, Holds Former President Prisoner

    Military leaders in Egypt announced that President Mohamed Morsi had been ousted on Wednesday and are reportedly holding him under house arrest in Cairo. Adly Mansour, head of the Egyptian Supreme Constitutional Court, was sworn in on Thursday to act as a temporary leader. Mansour is known for going agaisnt Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood on key issues in the past and says he hopes to reinstate democracy.
