3.Go to an art house cinema and watch a foreign black-and-white movie with subtitles while sipping on some red wine.
4.Go to an all-you-can-eat sushi spot and eat all the sushi your heart desires/can withstand.
5.Go to a brewery and ask, "Hey! If I was a beer critic, what beer would you recommend?"
6.Browse an art gallery while holding your hands behind your back. When you find a piece you really like, stare at it, but be sure to stay at least two feet away from the piece, otherwise a security guard will step in and tell you to back off, ruining your moment of zen.
8.Binge-watch a show everyone keeps talking about that you haven't gotten around to.
9.Go to an arcade and spend $20 on the first machine that draws your attention.
10.Watch an episode of any show hosted by Anthony Bourdain that takes place in your town/city. Eat at one of the restaurants he goes to, and order exactly what he gets.
11.Paint something. Anything. On paper, canvas, or a weird door that someone tossed in the garbage. Just paint on it.
12.Go to the highest chill out zone you can find, whether it's a mountain or a skyscraper, and read a book, preferably one you've been meaning to read but never got around to.
13.Pick up a Moleskine, or any small book with blank pages, and write down your thoughts. Let your hand go crazy. The writing doesn't have to make sense. Just write.
14.Drive. Take a long drive and let your mind wander, but keep your eyes on the road.
15.Learn to cook a very complicated dish, like beef wellington, even if you don't know how to cook.
16.Go to a wine tasting, and use the words "tannins," "opulent," "unoaked," and "unctuous."
17.Wake up super early, like 10 minutes before sunrise, and go for a jog. Don't sprint. Run at your own pace and be sure to enjoy the morning dew.
18.Go to a super fancy furniture store and sit on everything. If they have beds, lay down on them. If they have lamps, turn them off, and then turn them back on.
19.Go to a cheese shop, and look at all the cheeses. Pick one you love, and one that you've never heard of. Buy a bread roll, and grapes if available. Have a picnic at a nearby park. Look at the birds.
20.Go to an independent bookstore and browse through all the books. If you like one, read the first five pages. If you're hooked, buy it. If not, don't.
21.Go to a show where there are live performers. This includes (but is not limited to): the theater, an indie rock concert, the symphony, the circus (with no animals), the ballet, performance art, and a wrestling show.
22.Call your mom and ask about her day.
23.Walk through what you consider a beautiful area in your city/town. At some point, pause, take a deep breath, exhale, put your hands on your hips and then say, "Yeah..."
24.Go to Sunday brunch, alone. Order whatever you want. IT'S BRUNCH.
25.Go to a church or temple (NOT DURING SERVICE) and sit for at least 10 minutes. Just sit in silence. Even if you're not religious or don't believe in God. You'll be amazed by how calming it is.
26.Go to a toy store and buy a toy. Any toy that draws your attention. Your inner child will thank you.
27.Go into YouTube and find a retro commercial or PSA that really sticks out in your mind. Like this one:
28.Breathe. It's OK to be single. The world keeps turning round and round and life is what you make of it, whether it includes someone else or not. It's all good in the hood, homie.
