33 TV Details From 2019 That'll Make You Say, "How Did I Not Notice That?!"

Meredith Grey brought back the iconic Seattle Grace Mercy West softball hat.

1. First, in Grey's Anatomy, Meredith wears her old Seattle Grace Mercy West softball hat while she's doing community service.

2. In Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Melinda May's stance when she's about to fight Izel is a nod to Mulan preparing to fight Shan Yu in MulanMing-Na Wen plays Melinda and voiced Mulan.

3. In Brooklyn Nine-Nine, you can spot an old photo of Capt. Holt standing next to Kevin while all of the other couples are embracing. Holt has talked about how tough it was being a gay police officer.

4. In Schitt's Creek, the engagement rings Patrick gives David are actually four gold rings, so that they match the four silver rings he always wears

5. In the series finale of Veep, Selina's funeral is upstaged by Tom Hanks' death, which is a nod to a conversation in the pilot.

6. In This Is Us, we were introduced to adult Jack Jr. the same way we were introduced to Jack in the pilot — we saw both of them naked before learning anything else about them.

7. Also in This Is Us, Kate can be seen watching the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode where Buffy learns that Angel is a vampire.

8. During the Pose Season 2 finale, the dress Angel wears during the ball was gifted to Indya Moore by Patti LuPone, who wore the exact dress when she won the 1980 Tony Award for Evita.

9. In Watchmen, Angela recreates the iconic smiley face from the Watchmen comics while visiting a class.

14. In Elite, a group dressed as characters from Money Heist/La Case de Papel walks past Carla right before Nano arrives — Nano is played by Jaime Lorente, who stars as Denver in Money Heist.

15. In The 100, Clarke's mind palace featured several Easter eggs for longtime fans, including memories of Lexa, Finn, and Octavia landing on the ground for the first time in the pilot.

16. In Stranger Things, Eleven has the bird poster from Mike's basement hanging on her bedroom wall.

17. Also in Stranger Things, Dustin's girlfriend Suzie has his old red, white, and blue hat on her nightstand.

18. In Russian Doll, the three guys Nadia meets in the bodega actually appear more than once and seemingly as different characters. They're seen in the bodega, at Nadia's office, and as EMTs.

19. Also in Russian Doll, you can spot Alan walking through Tompkins Square Park. This is before Nadia meets him in the elevator.

20. And in Russian Doll, during the final scene where Nadia joins the parade, you can actually spot two other Nadias walking past her.

21. In The Politician opening credits, you can see that the book after Barack Obama is called "Idiot's Guide to Clowning."

22. Also in The Politician opening credits, you can see that Payton is passing his "Politicizing Beyoncé" class.

23. In Legacies, Lizzie gives Hope the exact dress that Klaus gave Caroline for the Mikaelsons' ball in Season 3 of The Vampire Diaries.

24. Also in Legacies, MG is given the old camcorder that Kai used to make a video for Bonnie during The Vampire Diaries.

25. In American Horror Story: 1984, when the Camp Redwood counselors pull up to a gas station, it's an homage to Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

26. In Arrow, when Oliver visits Laurel on Earth-2, you can see that Vixen, Ragman, and Steel are on Team Black Canary alongside Laurel and Adrian Chase as Green Arrow.

27. Also in Arrow, when Quentin uncovers a list of potential hits, the names include some of the characters from Stranger Things.

28. In Looking For Alaska, while Miles is making a phone call, you can spot the name "Katherine" and turtles underneath the payphone, which are nods to John Green's other novels An Abundance of Katherines and Turtles All The Way Down.

29. Also in Looking For Alaska, when Miles and Lara are lying in bed watching TV, you can hear The O.C. theme song playing. Josh Schwartz was the showrunner for both shows.

30. In Batwoman, Alice has "Twinkle, twinkle, little bat. How I wonder what you're at!" written on the wall behind her throne. This is part of the poem recited by the Mad Hatter in Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

31. Also in Batwoman, all of the episode titles are phrases or quotes from Alice In Wonderland.
