It's Been 10 Years Since One Direction Officially Became A Band, So Here They Are Then Vs. Now

Since One Direction went on hiatus, Harry has released two solo albums, Harry Styles and Fine Line. Currently, "Watermelon Sugar" sits at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving Harry his third top 10 hit after "Adore You" and "Sign of the Times."

At 16 years old, Niall auditioned for The X Factor with Ne-Yo's "So Sick" and said he was there to be "the best artist I could be in the world."

Niall has gone on to record two solo studio albums, Flicker and Heartbreak Weather. Flicker debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Album chart back in 2017 and "Slow Hands" spent a whopping 31 weeks on the Hot 100 chart.

At 17 years old, Zayn auditioned for The X Factor with Mario's "Let Me Love You."

After five years with the band, Zayn decided to leave One Direction in March 2015. In a statement about leaving, Zayn said, "I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight. I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry, and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world."

Liam had actually auditioned for The X Factor in 2008 for the first time, but was cut during the judges' houses stage of the competition. Then, at 16 years old, Liam returned in 2010 and auditioned with Michael Bublé's version of "Cry Me a River."

Since One Direction went on hiatus, Liam released his first solo album, LP1, in 2019. His single "Strip That Down," which was released in 2017, spent 28 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
