Chris Evans Discussed What It Was Like Getting Thor's Hammer In "Avengers: Endgame" And I'm Obsessed

"The hammer was kind of this period at the end of a sentence in terms of his worth."

It's been nearly seven months since Avengers: Endgame premiered and gave us some truly incredible MCU moments.

And one of those moments was definitely when Captain America wields Mjölnir while battling Thanos.

It was the scene that earned the most applause when I saw it in theaters, and now Chris Evans is finally discussing what the moment meant to him.

While visiting The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy couldn't help but talk about Endgame and Chris's journey as Captain America.

Jimmy asked Chris if it felt better to pick up Captain America's shield for the first time or Thor's hammer...

...And Chris surprisingly said Thor's hammer!

He explained that he always knew he would get to use Captain America's shield, but the hammer was one of his favorite surprises.

Chris believes that Cap getting Mjölnir was the perfect ending because it really showed his worth.

He also joked that Chris Hemsworth wasn't too thrilled about letting go of the hammer.

In a recent interview with Slash Films, executive producer Trinh Tran talked about what a joy it was to see Chris film this monumental scene.

She said, "I remember how excited Chris was. Obviously he’s read his scene and knew what was going to happen, but when you’re standing there holding it and lifting it up, it’s a pretty amazing feeling. I think the excitement on him was so captivating."

Knowing how much this moment meant to Chris and everyone involved just makes it so much better.

Basically, Chris just gave me another excuse to rewatch Endgame for the millionth time.
