25 Behind-The-Scenes Facts About The "Bridgerton" Cast Every Fan Should Know

    9. When casting Bridgerton, Shondaland executive producer Betsy Beers immediately thought of Regé-Jean Page for Simon — she had worked with Regé on For the People and they became great friends.

    19. Regé-Jean Page originally studied sound engineering as a university student before he discovered the British National Youth Theatre and fell in love with acting.

    20. Nicola Coughlan is very good friends with Queer Eye star Jonathan Van Ness. They met via Instagram after Nicola tagged him in a hoodie she made with his face on it.

    21. Regé-Jean Page and Phoebe Dynevor spent hours together trying to perfect the choreography on Bridgerton, and they sometimes danced to Beyoncé while practicing.

    Regé explained how important it was to him that they got the dancing right, saying, "Once you start dancing, you get to be honest. I think that's why dances are so central to these stories. They're not frivolous; they’re the real heart and soul of the story."

    22. Claudia Jessie and Nicola Coughlan's first day on the Bridgerton set included filming a scene outside where Nicola was holding a dog and wearing heels. Nicola ended up falling over three times AND the scene didn't even make the final cut.
