The "Avengers: Endgame" Directors Just Revealed Who Katherine Langford Was Going To Play

BRB sobbing over Avengers: Endgame again!

🚨Warning: There are MASSIVE spoilers for Avengers: Endgame in this post, so proceed with caution.🚨

By now it's no secret that Avengers: Endgame includes some truly heartbreaking moments.

But arguably the most devastating one involved fans having to say goodbye to Tony Stark after 22 incredible movies.

Our fearless original Avenger ends up sacrificing himself to save everyone by using the Infinity Stones to defeat Thanos.

It's an emotional moment that includes Tony being surrounded by Pepper, Rhodey, and Peter Parker after snapping his fingers.

However, the scene almost had another heartbreaking layer that involved 13 Reasons Why star Katherine Langford.

In an interview with Josh Horowitz on his podcast Happy Sad Confused, directors Joe and Anthony Russo revealed who Katherine played and why her scene was ultimately cut.

Joe said, "There was an idea that we had that Tony was gonna go into the metaphysical way station that Thanos goes into [in Infinity War]."

In case you need a refresher, after Thanos used the stones the first time, he had a vision where he talked to a young Gamora.

In Avengers: Endgame, Tony would've ended up in the same place after snapping his fingers, but he would've seen a teenage version of his daughter Morgan played by Katherine.

The original idea was Morgan would forgive Tony and give him peace right before he died — if this scene included "I love you 3,000," I would've been inconsolable.

The entire scene was filmed, but it didn't pack the emotional punch the Russos were hoping for.

Anthony said, "We realized that we didn't feel an emotional association with his adult daughter... It wasn't ringing to us [or] resonating with us on an emotional level."

Back in January, fans speculated that Katherine was going to play Tony and Pepper's daughter after she posted an Instagram with red hair.

Basically, I'm going to be patiently waiting for Katherine's cut scene to be released so I can cry some more.
