The 2021 Golden Globe nominations were announced this morning, with The Crown dominating the TV categories and movies like Promising Young Woman, Mank, and The Trial of the Chicago 7 leading the way for movies.

And while there were some welcome surprises — I loved seeing Ted Lasso as a first-time nominee, THREE women nominated for Best Director, and Chadwick Boseman get a posthumous nomination for Ma Rainey's Black Bottom — it seemed like there were even more snubs this year.

I May Destroy You, which was the best TV series of 2020, and Da 5 Bloods were completely shut out, Zendaya didn't get a nom for Malcolm & Marie, the cast of Lovecraft Country didn't get any nominations for their individual performances, Steven Yeun was nowhere to be found for his work in Minari, and many more.

I truly can't stop screaming about I May Destroy You being snubbed, it's honestly baffling.

And, I'm not alone. The internet was quick to point out all of the massive snubs this year. Here are some of the best reactions to the 2021 Golden Globes snubs:
1.
emily in paris nominated but i may destroy you isn’t....this is just so..?
2.
I MAY DESTROY YOU pushed the boundaries of the television form more than any other show last year and was triumphant in doing so. An astonishing, incomparable, incredible piece of storytelling. Michaela Coel deserves better, tbh. #GoldenGlobes
3.
michaela cole was robbed. #GoldenGlobes
4.
Golden Globes are laughable. Not only is I May Destroy You absolutely fucking brilliant, it should be required viewing. Apparently you can be TOO far ahead of humanity @MichaelaCoel we don’t deserve you.
5.
I May Destroy You is a thoughtful, gut-twisting, smart, and trauma-informed exploration of the impact of sexual violence. One of the best shows I have seen. Michaela Coel, the writer, co-director AND executive producer deserves all the flowers. What a huge miss #GoldenGlobes
6.
I think it is an absolute travesty that Michaela Coel was snubbed in the #GoldenGlobes nominations for I May Destroy You - perhaps the most singular TV series of the past few years driven by a brave and fearless performance from a true auteur
7.
The total freeze out of I May Destroy You and Michaela Coel is proof that the Golden Globes deserve zero attention and have zero connection to the actual culture.
8.
The fact that I MAY DESTROY YOU isn’t awash with nominations is a fucking disgrace
9.
Steven Yeun delivered one of the best performances of the year for me. A masterclass in subtle, nuanced acting, he was able to say with his eyes and his physicality what his emotionally stunted character wasn’t able to put into words. This snub is painful. #GoldenGlobes
10.
we live in a world where james corden gets nominated and steven yeun doesn't
11.
An award that nominates 'Emily in Paris' in multiple categories has no legitimacy to call Minari a foreign language film. Yes, I'm bitter. #GoldenGlobes
12.
zendaya, steven yeun and michaela coel i am so sorry you are simply too sexy for the golden globes that’s why they snubbed you
13.
not the golden globes snubbing zendaya two years in a row
14.
When you find out Jonathan Majors and Jurnee Smollett didn't get a #GoldenGlobes nominations for their incredible work in 'Lovecraft Country'
15.
The Golden Globes always has some clownery involved...Seeing that neither Jurnee Smollett or Jonathan Majors got nominated for their amazing performances. https://t.co/fPS2ujn5V6
16.
so you’re telling me that t’nia miller from bly manor, kerry washington in little fires everywhere, sophie okonedo from ratched, and jurnee smollett from lovecraft country did NOT get golden globe nominations???
17.
Da 5 Bloods getting shut out at the Globes is some high-key bullshit.
18.
Delroy Lindo as Paul in “Da 5 Bloods” appreciation tweet.
19.
So....no Zendaya for Euphoria, Michaela Coel for I May Destroy You, Jurnee Smollett for Lovecraft Country, but somehow Lily Collins gets a #GoldenGlobes nom for Emily in Paris, the most sub-par overhyped show of the year? Good job, HFPA. You're so 2021 right now.
20.
In the year of P-Valley, I May Destroy You, Lovecraft Country and Little Axe, we get only THREE (!!!) television acting nominees of color, all men. #GoldenGlobes
