17 Struggles Only High School Athletes Understood

Being an athlete in high school was tough business. There was homework to finish, tests to study for, rivals to compete against, and hell week to survive. But somehow...you got through it!

1. When you rolled your ankle and had to use crutches for a few weeks.

2. When you accidentally called your girlfriend "Football."

3. Making sure your basketball uniform was washed and ready before the next game.

4. When you ran so many stairs you had to stop because you legitimately forgot how your legs worked.

5. Waking up at 6 a.m. only to hop in a freezing cold pool to swim laps for three hours.

6. When your nonathletic friends got to chill after school while you had practice.

7. Getting all geared up only to realize you suddenly had to go to the bathroom.

8. When you forgot to tuck your thumbs during volleyball practice.

9. Trying to find time for homework during practice.

10. Getting up at 5 a.m. to go to a track meet in another town.

11. Remembering that paper you hadn't started writing yet was due yesterday.

12. SPRINTS.

13. Intense FOMO.

14. When you ran so hard at practice you could swear you literally went blind at one point.

15. Struggling to pay attention in class.

16. Shin splints.

17. That time when the seniors on the varsity team glued a clown nose to your face.

Some struggles from high school never end. Like rivalries. We all have that one person who always challenged us, who was always hot on our heels — that's TJ.
