This Video Claims You Can Unlock Anyone’s iPhone And It’s Totally Fake

    *deep breaths*

A viral video recently shared on Facebook claims there's a glitch that allows anyone to get past an iPhone's passcode through Siri.

It's been viewed over *42 million times*.

But no need to freak out because it's a 🙏 complete 🙏 scam 🙏.

The video (and many others like it) claim that you can ask Siri, "What's the time?" to get past the lock screen.

If your iPhone is running iOS 9.0.2 or newer (the current version of 9.2.1), your device should be safe. If it isn't updated, then this hack, which takes advantage of a known (and now patched) security hole in the iPhone's software, may work!

The video shows someone prompting Siri with "What's the time?" while the iPhone is locked. The user then taps on the time and, in the Clock app, taps to add a fake city. After double tapping the text, they are able to select "Share" then Messages, which I was not able to recreate. Once in Messages, the user then creates a fake contact, adds a photo to the fake contact, and finally is able to press the home button and reach the iPhone's homescreen.

Again, if your device is updated to the latest version of iOS, this won't work!

When iOS 9 was launched last year, there *was* a security flaw that let users view photos and contacts without unlocking the device with a passcode or fingerprint.

But Apple quickly closed the loophole with iOS 9.0.2, so update your phones if you haven't yet!

If, however, you're still paranoid that someone can snoop on your stuff, here's what to do.
