Ksenia Sobchak, a new editor in chief of L'officiel Russia recently shared her opinion on "fat people"

It all started when the new editor in chief of L'officiel Russia shared a cover of her debut issue of the magazine on Instagram. Some people left comments about the models looking "too skinny" and even "anorexic".

After that Ms. Sobchak shared her opinion on "fat people":

"Dear friends! Thank you for your comments about "anorexic models". I am not going to explain anything about the upcoming season fashion trends, if you want an insight just buy a magazine :) But I'll give my opinion about something else. I don't like fat people. I mean I can understand those who are fat because of some diseases, but not the rest [of the fat people]. I've never understood the phenomenon of Kim Kardashian's "ass without limits", but I am happy that in fashion world being skinny is still essential to success, so don't lie to yourselves. Commercial models and Victoria's Secret Angels are a completely different segment - a mass market. That's why I am always surprised to read comments about breast implants and other stuff. Nothing is more beautiful than a skinny fit body. Leave the curvy women to truckers. Amen. "

A lot of people were outraged and hurt by her comment. Ksenia often writes about discrimination and how any kind of discrimination is completely unacceptable. Yet she says something like that about, well, all not skinny people. No public apology followed and even more to that Ksenia shared other hateful Instagram posts and articles on the subject saying that this is her opinion and she is not supposed to explain herself.

What surprises me even more, is the fact that L'officiel has done literally nothing about this situation. Does her opinion reflect the opinion of the magazine? Is fashion really only for skinny people? Needless to say I will not buy a single issue of L'officiel ever again.
