The showdown took place on the city's West Side, near the intersection of Western Avenue and Adams Street, photographer Lenny Gilmore told BuzzFeed News. He witnessed the scene and also captured it with his camera.

"I talked to some people at the scene and they said that they were two rival gangs," Gilmore, who works as the photo editor for RedEye, told BuzzFeed News. "But it seems like it was mostly for fun."

The Chicago Police Department responded to the incident around 10:10 p.m., a spokesperson told BuzzFeed News.

"Peace was restored and no injuries were reported," the police spokesperson said. "No one in custody at this time."
