Scatter Their Ashes In The Holy Land...Because "You Can Only Scatter The Ashes Of Your Loved One But Once."

A company called Holyland Ash Scattering is apparently hoping Christians will use their service because Christians believe there could be no better "eternal" resting place than in Israel somewhere -- and by "Israel" I don't mean heaven.

    Holyland Ash Scattering Overview

This is probably the most irrelevant service I've come across recently for Bible-reading Christians...and I use "Bible-reading" because, if you pick one up and read it (apparently what no one at Holyland Ash Scattering has bothered to do), you'll see that it says something about an eternal state for Jesus' followers called "paradise" or "heaven" -- and I'm pretty confident most Christian traditions will agree, "heaven" is not a plane flight away.In case you have never heard of Holyland Ash Scattering, despite the company's appearance on CNN, here's a description from the website:"Holyland Ash Scattering is a company that now makes it possible to have ashes scattered on the sacred grounds, known as 'The Holy Land', located in Israel. Our private memorial garden is in the foothills beside Mount Beatitudes overlooking the Sea of Galilee. Holyland Ash Scattering is based in the USA and will safely transport the ashes of loved ones from anywhere in the world, to our office in Beit Shemesh, Israel, where they will then be scattered in our memorial garden in the Galilee region overlooking the Sea of Galilee. We take great care and are honored to be entrusted to conduct the scattering ceremony with dignity and respect."The excellently produced and exquisitely informative video on the company website, http://holylandashscattering.com, tells prospective clients exactly why this is the perfect service for their departed loved ones. But in case it isn't all clear from the video, here are some takeaways as well as statements from the company's FAQ page regarding the scattering of your loved one's ashes (you're welcome)."We scatter their ashes in our peaceful, private memorial garden in the hills near Mt. Beatitudes overlooking the Sea of Galilee."Translation: Remember Jesus' Sermon the Mount (or hill) in the Bible somewhere (because we haven't really read it)? Well, your loved one's ashes will be right near a mountain with the same name...overlooking the Sea of Galilee...that Jesus crossed so many times during his ministry. Your dead loved one will enjoy this immensely because well...whatever -- Jesus was there!!!"This is one of the holiest places on earth. This is the Holyland, in the same spot that Jesus lived and taught. There could be no better resting place for eternity. Why settle for anywhere else?"Translation: Who wants to be with Jesus in heaven, when you're loved one can rest FOREVER in the salty grounds near some mountain where he supposedly used to walk?"These are the fields and pastures that link man to his soul, the place where eternity becomes reality -- the most rewarding place on Earth to rest for all eternity."Translation: We have no idea what that means, but it sounds really good and deeply spiritual. Are you sold yet?"The soul of your departed loved one will find tremendous solace and comfort in returning to its spiritual roots in this extraordinary region of the Holy Land."Translation: Although Christians are likely looking forward to "solace and comfort" in God's presence, this hot, humid and craggy spot where we'll dump -- that is, gently and ceremoniously scatter your loved one's ashes is ten times better."You can only scatter your loved one but once. Make it special. Make it secure. Make it eternal."Translation: You can only scatter your loved one's ASHES but once. Make it special. Make it secure.
