Step aside, Avengers! Ryan Murphy is officially king of crossovers if the latest rumor about the current season of American Horror Story is true.
American Horror Story: Apocalypse, the FX franchise’s eighth installment in the anthology series, follows a group of survivors as they navigate a post-apocalyptic world on a season that is a crossover between the ever popular Murder House (season one) and Coven (season three) seasons. Many fan favorites have already returned such as Jessica Lange’s conniving Constance Langdon and Frances Conroy’s eccentric Myrtle Snow. But the real star of the season came with the return of the ICONIC Madison Montgomery played by Emma Roberts.
Coven fans fell in love with Emma’s character within minutes of the first episode of season three back in 2013 thanks to her brash behavior and diva antics and were thrilled when they learned that she would be reappearing in this year’s installment. But the excitement doesn’t end there.
Roberts was spotted on the AHS set wearing a preppy pink ensemble complete with a floral scarf and pearl earrings, an outfit that doesn’t quite match Madison Montgomery’s dark color palette but rather that of a different Roberts character from within the Ryan Murphy universe – Chanel Oberlin.
Yes, you read that right. Fans are speculating that Chanel #1 from Ryan Murphy’s short-lived comedy/horror series Scream Queens (RIP) could be making an appearance on this season of American Horror Story and fans are so excited, and the clues don’t end there.
American Horror Story die hard fans also noticed that one of the stylists working on the new season also happened to work on the Scream Queens set and snapped a pic of a fuzzy purse with the caption “She back,” leading fans to believe they were referring to Chanel and not Madison.
The eighth season is coming close to an end with only two episodes remaining on the season so only time will tell if this theory pans out to be true. But a Chanel Oberlin/Madison Montgomery interaction is something we never realized we needed until now.
