Real Talk: there is an election in 8 days.
Guys, there's an election in almost a week! And unless you've been too busy watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix, you probably know that Jeanne Shaheen, who has been fighting for working families in New Hampshire for decades, is up for re-election.
And she's running against this guy:
Not only does Scott Brown have some pretty backwards views on women
...he generally has a very tenuous grasp on things like, um, facts. And which state he's in. And what's happening on our border. Yeah, I guess there's a lot of stuff he doesn't really "get"—particularly that Granite Staters know and trust Jeanne Shaheen.
Well last week, Scott Brown and Jeanne Shaheen had their first two televised debates.
And there are a few moments that Scott Brown would probably like to forget. Luckily, we're here to walk you through the highlights.
First, there was this (warning: it's awesome)
Pro-tip: if people laugh in disbelief when you tell them where you're from, you're doing it wrong.
Hear that laughing? That's an audience of Granite Staters genuinely belly laughing in reaction to Scott Brown saying he ran for Senate in New Hampshire because he lives here now. Well nice of you to show up and immediately run for Senate, Scott!
Luckily, Jeanne Shaheen was there to say exactly what the crowd was totes thinking:
Undeterred, Scott Brown continued to do what we call in the business "a bad job" at debating.
Case in point: when Senator Shaheen asked Scott Brown why he voted to protect tax breaks for companies that outsource jobs, and why he was personally profiting off a company that outsourced U.S. jobs to China and Mexico.
So what did that ole cut-up Scott Brown say then?
Ha! Stop Stop! My sides are splitting! Never voted for outsourcing? LOL! Oh Scott, you slay me.
Then, Jeanne Shaheen straight up laid.down.truths. She told ole Scotty what’s what.
End Round 1 - Scott Brown: 0, Jeanne Shaheen: all the points
And that was only Tuesday! Just two days later Jeanne Shaheen showed up to take Scott Brown to task again.
#TBT to when Jeanne Shaheen took the stage last Thursday for debate #2
The night did not start off well for Scott “I didn’t say that” Brown.
Brown never really recovered
Probably because Jeanne Shaheen came back with this zinger when Scott Brown accused her of not being engaged on the ISIS threat.
