1. Tyler Oakley

This year has been HUGE for Tyler Oakley. For starters, he gained close to 4 million subscribers in the past 12 months alone. No wonder he was named Entertainer Of The Year 2014 by the Coca-Cola sponsored Streamy Awards.

But Oakely was busy outside of the YouTube sphere as well. For his 25th birthday he raised over $500,000 for the Trevor Project, an American non-profit organization focused on suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth. The fundraising more than tripled the original goal of $150,000.

Thank you to EVERYONE who donated & helped spread the word to help us raise $500k+ for @TrevorProject. Can’t wait to send out rewards! <3

For this achievement and other work Tyler has done for the Trevor Project over the years, the organization has crowned him as their 2014 Youth Innovator. Oakley also won the Web Star: Male category of the Teen's Choice Award and hosted both MTVU's Fandom Awards and New Now Next Awards.

In August this year, Tyler started his own podcast called Psychobabble that week by week tops the iTunes Podcast charts in the comedy section.

If all that wasn't enough, he has been photographed for the November 2014 Out Magazine's Out100. Slay, Tyler, slay!

2. Grace Helbig

Grace Helbig was probably one of the busiest youtubers of this year. She started 2014 by ending her partership with MyDamnChannel, bravely walking away from an account with over 2.4 million subscribers, only to start everything anew on her independent channel, ItsGrace. The hard work has paid off as she is back, better and stronger than ever.

During the summer, along with another youtuber, Mamrie Hart, she visited eight states in an online, choose-your-own-adventure travel series called #HeyUSA run by The Scene and Astronauts Wanted.

Late August saw the beginning of Grace's own podcast, Not Too Deep With Grace Helbig, that proved to be extremely popular and landed on the top of the iTunes Podcast Charts very soon after its release.

In October, Grace became an author and released her debut book called Grace's Guide: The Art of Pretending to be a Grown-Up. The book quickly became #1 New York Times bestseller. Nice one, Grace. Keep it up!

3. Troye Sivan

For Troye, 2014 was all about signing a deal with Universal and releasing his first EP, TRXYE. The record reached 5th place on US Billboard 200 and made it to the top 5 in many other countries all over the world. Following the success of the EP, he is now recording his full-length debut album. The unfolding music career has also allowed Troye to be selected as one of the presenters for the 2015 Grammy nominations.

It was a big year for Hannah. She collaborated with Jamie Oliver, Mary-Louise Parker, and Sarah Silverman, among others. Moreover, together with Grace Helbig, she hosted the 2014 Streamy Awards and absolutelly killed it.

In August, she released a book, My Drunk Kitchen: A Guide to Eating, Drinking, and Going with Your Gut, that quickly became a New York Times bestseller.

But it's the Camp Takota film that seems to be her biggest achievement this year. Together with Mamrie Hart and Grace Helbig, Hart starred in and produced a movie that was fully kickstarted by the fans and distributed solely online. The film grossed at seven figures and is currently available on Netflix.

5. Miranda Sings

Miranda caused quite a stir in the industry in 2014. Her subscribers count went through the roof - it went up by nearly 300% in the last 12 months. Wow! Her comdey tour called Self Help hit 57 cities in the UK, US, Canada, and Australia. Oh, and did I mention she was nominated for a Teen Choice Award?
