Batson Patient to Represent Mississippi at White House, Disney World

Produced by Jim Albritton | Batson Children's Hospital named 13-year-old Jacob Partlow of Jackson the 2014 Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Mississippi Champion during a celebratory event hosted by Springhill Suites by Marriott at The Township at Colony Park in Ridgeland on May 2. Jacob's classmates at Canton Academy gave him a pep rally before he departed for the hotel in a motorcade led by the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the Madison County Sheriff's Department and the Madison Police Department. Jacob was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia and treated at the Children's Cancer Center at Batson. He has undergone chemotherapy and radiation, had seizures, gallbladder and liver complications and nerve damage in his left foot. Now in remission, he will spend the next year representing the state's only children's hospital at special events and fundraisers all over Mississippi. He'll also represent the state at the White House and Walt Disney World. The Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Champions program is presented by Marriott, Delta and Chico's FAS.
