When I first scheduled an appointment with a therapist at my college, I was very scared and unsure of what to expect. Now, I live in a different city, but I’m still going to therapy (three years later). I think everyone, mental illness or no, can benefit from therapy. It can be expensive (even with insurance, but definitely without), so check and see if a local college has a clinic open to the public (or your health center if you’re a student). I did that and got a reduced rate, way cheaper than seeing someone off campus.
TL;DR: Starting therapy can be very scary, but is also very rewarding and everyone can benefit from it. :)
