It's called superfetation, and it's _extremely_ rare — but it does happen! Sometimes a pregnant woman releases an egg several weeks into her pregnancy and, if that egg gets fertilized, then she'll be pregnant twice! She gives birth to both babies at the same time, but one of them will look a few weeks younger than the other.

**You CAN get pregnant if you're already pregnant!**

So why are testicles outside the body instead of inside? Well, it turns out that spermatogenesis (the process of making sperm) works best at about 95 degrees Fahrenheit, which is about 3 degrees cooler than the internal temperature of the human body. Luckily, the tissue of the scrotum can expand or contract to move the testicles closer or further from the body to maintain an ideal temperature for sperm-making.

**Sperm is made in the testicles!**

In fact, nearsightedness (or myopia) has a high incidence during puberty, due to growth in the axial diameter of the eye. Other symptoms of puberty include pubic/body/facial hair, increased sweat production, body odor, lowering of the voice, increase in size of muscles, initiation of menstrual periods, and enlargement of sexual organs and breasts.

**Puberty does NOT enhance vision and hearing!**

It's rare, but it can happen! If sperm and/or seminal fluids come into contact with vaginal fluids, it's possible that some sperm could sneak in, make the trek, and fertilize an egg.

**You can totally get pregnant from dry humping!**

The vas deferens transports sperm from the testicles to the ejaculatory ducts in the penis. Each tube is about a foot long!

Boys start a little later, between the ages of 12 and 16. Adolescent girls today are experiencing the onset of puberty at earlier ages than ever before. For example: In 1900, the average age for the onset of puberty was 15 years old! Nobody knows exactly why this is happening, but nutritional and environmental factors may have something to do with it.

**Girls usually begin puberty between the ages of 10 and 14!**

When an oocyte (an unfertilized egg) is ready, it escapes from the ovary and travels down the fallopian tube. This is where it meets the sperm. Once it's fertilized, it undergoes a second stage of meiosis and becomes a zygote, a fertilized egg! Then it travels to the uterus to develop into a full-on baby.

**Fertilization happens in the fallopian tubes!**

Sperm is the male reproductive cell. Semen is a combination of a few different substances, like enzymes, and fructose, that promote the survival of the sperm and give it a medium to "swim" through. So all sperm is semen, but not all semen is sperm!

**Sperm and semen are different things!**
