7 Practical Things They Don't Do Enough On The Walking Dead.

I'm deeply in love with this show and take it far too seriously as evident by this list.These are seven practical things the characters don't do enough of in The Walking Dead or they did once only to never do again despite it being wicked effective. Because, you know, it's a TV show and not a documentary. But a person can't help watching and planning for the (inevitable) zombie apocalypse. Here are some of the underused tactics from this nail biting show that you should definitely file away for the future. Spoilers ahead.

1. Running!

The walkers are not fast. Andrea managed to outpace a bunch of them in season two with a leisurely jog. There were a few occasions where some balls to the wall running would have solved the problem. Why aren't they doing mandatory running training in the morning?

2. Camouflage.

Do you remember how awesome (and gross) it was when Rick and Glenn got all gunked up in walker guts and waltzed on by undetected? Remember when they did it again? Oh, right. And they never thought to use it again when, oh say, clearing out the prison? Dodging herds for months on the run? Yeah ok.

3. Booby traps.

Morgan may well and truly have stumbled into crazy town but the man was the DIY master of death traps. Even the Governor jumped on board. Far be it for me to praise anything ole' Phillip did... ah screw it, the walker pits were awesome. Hey prison group, there would be less walkers pressed up against the fence if y'all dug a moat. Zombie apocalypse medieval style.

4. Letting Rick lose his shit.

So it may not be practical to have your fearless leader running through the bushes, doing stuff and things but after Lori's death he was nigh unstoppable. We could definitely stand to see more badassery like that. For some reason, being crazy makes for a better survivor on this show.

5. Training.

Season four is the first time we've seen them sit down and do some practical training since gun practice on the farm and it's being led by covert Carol. Granted all these training montages might happen off screen but I for one am totally on board with Carol. What good is learning to read if a walker has eaten your eyes out? It should be crossbows at 9:00am, Katana's at noon and Head shots 101 before bed..

6. Less talking.

The start of season three was glorious. They didn't say a word, they just got shit done. I love these characters but if occasionally they took a leaf out of Michonne's book, that would also be great. Too often they discuss when they should be taking action. For example, right now might not be the best time for conspiracy theories, Sasha! Stop distracting them and kill walkers!

7. Killing.

"Hold up," you might be thinking, "they do plenty of walker killing."

Not nearly enough, my good sir. Season three, they should have been killing those milling walkers straight off the bat. And now they're back with more friends to mess with the fence. If it's such a problem, why don't they have twenty-four hour rotating shifts on walker killing duty? Oh for drama! Yep, still a TV show.
