A Simple Statistical Exercise For World Water Day

March 22nd is World Water Day.

Did you know that roughly 1 in 9 people live without access to an improved source of drinking water?

1 of the 9 glasses is empty (#6). But let's say we erase the numbers and shuffle the glasses so they're out of order.

About 1/9 of you will draw glass #6. For roughly that percentage of the world, no access to an improved source of drinking water has wide-ranging effects.

World Water Day helps educate the public on the full implications of this problem and how it affects more than just health.

#Wateris free time. Women &children carry 70% of the burden of water collection - leaving less time for school.

And in this short video, Charity: Water illustrates the burden of collecting water and how you can help the affected regions of the world.
