Sampson McCormick has been bringing laughter to audiences across America, gay and straight, for years. His unique brand of unvarnished truth and whimsical banter have gained him a loyal following from coast to coast. In his recent comedy special, The Shade Of It All, recorded during the summer of 2012 in Washington, DC's legendary Arts Center, the funnyman and LGBTQ activist riffs on performing at the DC jail, apartment scam shenanigans while house-hunting ion Craigslist, and, of course, President Obama's campaign for a second term in the White House. While the road to success hasn't always been easy for Sampson and other out performers, he nevertheless perseveres and keeps bringing his game forward. In The Shade Of It All, we get to see Sampson at his lighthearted best. Playing to a sold-out crowd, it's clear that this young artist is throughly enjoying himself, and it's delightfully infectious. Thus past weekend, Sampson received the Entertainer Of The Year Award at the fabulous Xscape Puerto Rico LGBT Arts & Culture Festival, and his summer schedule includes shows up and down the California coast, and at the 6th Annual Gentlemen's Ball in Atlanta this September. Bravo, Sampson!
