Turns Out H.E.R. And Kehlani Were Child Stars, And Were Almost In A Band With Zendaya

I mean, it's not too late for this to come together!

Hey, did you know that halfway-EGOT winner H.E.R. was almost in a band with none other than Zendaya and Kehlani?

Speaking on the The Carlos Watson Show, H.E.R said, “Dylan Wiggins, who is D’wayne Wiggins’ son from Tony! Toni! Toné! — we used to be in a band together. We used to perform together when we were really young.”

Kehlani was actually in our band. We all used to sing together. Zendaya was going to be in it at one point. But yeah, they all grew up together. I came into the picture in Oakland and we used to perform together," she continued.

I don't know why, but, dear reader, this nugget of information HOOKED me. So I, an adult, went on a deep dive into tween music from the early ’10s.

As you may or may not know, H.E.R. was somewhat of a child prodigy — she appeared on the Today show at just 10 years old, under her own name (Gabi Wilson), performing an Alicia Keys song.

And, obvi, Zendaya has been famous since Disney's Shake It Up in 2010.

So what about this band? Well, it appears to have been none other than "Poplyfe" — which competed on America's Got Talent Season 6.

Although neither Zendaya nor H.E.R. were part of the AGT run, a bb Kehlani sure was:

And Zendaya performed with Poplyfe after Kehlani left, including this performance at the White House:

Well, it looks like Zendaya still supports H.E.R.'s career — as she literally jumped for joy when H.E.R. won her Oscar this year:

Well, should this band ever choose to come into existence, sign me up for a front row seat!
