Can You Get More Than 7/10 In This Female Anatomy Quiz?

Do you even know where the vagina is?

  1. A woman can get pregnant any time during her menstrual cycle.

    Correct!
    Wrong!

    It's false!

True. Women are more fertile during some points in their menstrual cycle – up to a week before an egg is released, the day of ovulation, and afterwards, because sperm can survive for 5-7 days in the reproductive tract. Once the egg is released, it will live for 12-24 hours. After that, most women will not be fertile again until the next menstrual cycle. But because a woman can release an egg at almost any point in her cycle, you can get pregnant from unprotected sex at any time, even if you have sex during your period.

  2. Which part of the female reproductive system is the cervix?

    Correct!
    Wrong!

  3. It's normal to have one breast that is larger than the other.

    Correct!
    Wrong!

It's entirely normal to have asymmetrical breasts.

The extent of the asymmetry varies from person to person, but everyone has some level of asymmetry. You can read a whole article about it here!

  4. Which part is the vagina?

    Wrong!

  5. Which of these is the most accurate and complete depiction of a clitoris?

    Correct!
    Wrong!

The clitoris is actually a big ol' thing!

Okay, neither diagram is particularly good, but you get the picture – the clitoris is actually pretty big, though most of it is not visible.

  6. The vagina is naturally hostile to sperm.

    Correct!
    Wrong!

    It's true!

The vagina has a low pH, making it hostile to sperm. Sexual stimulation (and ovulation) produces a fluid which lubricates the vagina and protects the sperm from the naturally acidic environment of the vagina.

  7. Everyone with a vagina will bleed the first time they have sex.

    Correct!
    Wrong!

    False!

More often than not, bleeding after losing one's virginity is not caused by a ruptured hymen but by trauma caused from penetration. You can read more about this here!

  8. Women sleep more than men.

    Correct!
    Wrong!

Several studies have revealed that women do sleep longer than men!

This article suggests that it's due to societal reasons – women perform more unpaid labour (such as cooking, childcare, cleaning, etc), which eats into leisure time and causes more exhaustion.

  9. Women are more comfortable at a higher temperature than men.

    Correct!
    Wrong!

    It's true!

A paper in the journal Nature Climate Change in 2015 suggested that male bodies tend to produce more heat that female bodies and have a lower resting metabolic rate, which is why they tend to be more tolerant to the cold and less tolerant of heat.

  10. A vagina can "stretch out" from too much sex.

    Correct!
    Wrong!

    False!

If a vagina can birth a small human being and return to its original size, there is no sexual act that will "stretch it out". This is a purely misogynistic myth.

CORRECTION

A woman can get pregnant any time during her menstrual cycle. An earlier version of this post said she could not.
