    1. Give your garage doors a dose of instant character and detail with a set of carriage-style magnets that take only seconds to attach and arrange so they look just right.

    amazon.com, amazon.com

Promising review: "If you're looking for instant curb appeal with little effort, you need to get these. These haven't moved in large rain storms or excessive wind and hopefully won't rust out like the more expensive drilled sets like my neighbors have since there are no exposed screws or hardware." —SG

(They won't rust out at all because they're made of a super durable UV- and weather-resistant plastic.)

Get them on Amazon for $12.11.

    2. Freshen up your living room in a single step: stuff those throw pillows you're not in love with anymore into a new set of covers.

    amazon.com

Get this set of four 18"x18" covers (which you can def use on 20"x20" pillows, too) on Amazon for $16.99 (many colors / print varieties available).

    3. Spend a two hours one afternoon making over your kitchen with a peel-and-stick tile backsplash that'll be easy to wipe clean when your baking gets a little messy.

    amazon.com

They're basically a sheet of raised plastic tiles that look so similar to glass you'd pretty much have to touch them to know. You can also totally use them in the bathroom, too! One reviewer decorated an accent strip in the shower and framed their mirror.

Promising review: These tiles transformed my kitchen. I used four packages during application, and will be purchasing one more to finish. They are a little hard to apply, but I also did use a adhesive spray along with these to make sure they stuck completely. To be honest, they are REALLY sticky so you don’t even have to use the spray, I ended up ripping one of my tiles in half accidentally trying to reposition it. TIPS: go slow, make a grid on your wall and cut everything ahead of time, it makes things go so much faster. Also, use a ruler and an Exacto knife to make sure you are getting precise/straight cuts. Overall, neat product!" —clabean

Get a pack of six 10"x10" sheets for $14.99 (+$1.99 shipping; four colors) and an X-Acto knife for $4.40 on Amazon.

    4. If you don't love the ones you have right now, swap out your cabinet and drawer pulls.

    amazon.com, amazon.com

Get the set of 10 bar-shaped pulls for $19.99 or the set of 10 bin cup pulls for $22.99, both on Amazon.

    5. Transform your outdated (but still perfectly functional) appliances in one weekend with a three-step stainless steel paint kit.

    amazon.com

The kit contains four different coats, which you let dry for at least an hour each — though some reviewers let each dry overnight.

Promising review: "I took the light coats recommendation too literally and ended up doing eight very, very light coats. I probably should have done about four coats a little thicker as I can still see some streaking — but nothing anyone else is likely to notice, even though it stands out to me. My black dishwasher is plastic, so I did a light sanding (400 paper), and then a single coat of plastic primer, eight very thin (too thin) coats of the base coat and three coats of the top coat. In retrospect, I should have done the coats a bit heavier and would have been done two days sooner! In the end, I'm very pleased with the product, ease of use and finished result." —JJ in MD

Get it on Amazon for $24.95.

    6. Build a simple wood frame and stretch a shower curtain or table cloth you love over it for a statement-size piece of wall art.

    7. Hang those pendant lights you've always dreamed of, no electrician required: just pick up a couple conversion kits for your builder-grade can lights.

    amazon.com

Promising review: "This was a pretty easy installation considering the work is on the ceiling. I've been wanting to change out the two can lights over my sink for years, so I started investigating the easiest possible way to do so. Ran across this item, and watched the video on YouTube. What the heck, I thought! Rewatched the video before installation, looked at the directions on both the converter kit and the pendant light, gathered the necessary tools described in all instructions, and set upon my mission. The hardest part (for me) was getting the self tapping screws started. I'm pretty pleased with the outcome, I must say! By the way, I'm a 55-year-old who has worked at a bank all of my life. Yes! It was that easy." —Trisch Schoonover

Get the kits on Amazon for $12.81 each.

    8. Or opt for a pendant lamp, which couldn't be simpler — all you have to do is hang it up and plug it into any regular outlet for that rustic bedside glow.

    9. Erase old water stains from your antique furniture so it looks nearly brand-new again with the help of a miracle wood finish restorer.

    amazon.com

While restoring a finish isn't quite the same as completely refinishing a piece, it take much less time and can still make furniture (and floors, front doors, and kitchen cabinets) look magically new again.

Promising review: "Very easy to get results. I applied to eight dining room chairs which had scrapes, scuffs and white paint marks. An amazing transformation so quickly. I finished eight chairs in 90 minutes without rushing. I bought two pints but only one was necessary. I used a cotton cloth for most of the application but also used 0000 steel wool for the scrapes and paint removal." —Amazon Customer

    amazon.com

Which means you might even remember to wear that favorite pair you just rediscovered in the back corner of your closet!

Promising review: "This is the perfect shoe organizing tool. My shoes were starting to take over my closet. This has created an amazing amount of new space. Personally, I have them organized in a way that makes me feel like I have a little shoe store in my closet! I have a lot of heavier leather dress shoes and these stand up just fine." —JEAN PIERRE-PAUL

Promising review: "This is a great shower head set. Both heads allow you to easily change the water setting, and a distinct click lets you know when you're right on that setting's maximum flow. The exterior of the shower head combo is a nice shiny chrome, and it definitely provides a luxury feel. The hose is lightweight and very high quality. I haven't had any problems with water leaking from either shower head or from the hose. For the price of this shower head, you can't beat it." —Nathan

Get it on Amazon for $24.99.

    amazon.com

This is a change that takes only a few minutes: unscrew the old, and screw on the new!

Promising review: "Feels quality, not flimsy. Installed in a bathroom and adds a nice classy vintage touch to my switch. The metal is not highly reflective, closer to a brushed look. Great for disguising fingerprints and blends in with other non-reflective metal hardware. When the light switch is frequently the first thing someone looks at and reaches for in a room, having a quality cover like this gets noticed and enhances a room very easily. I can't believe I'm still writing about how much I enjoy a light switch cover." —Tom Generic Dude

My mother recommended it to me after using it on minor stains at her house and so glad I got it. Definitely worth the money and it really does disappear right before your eyes like the bottle says!" —jen

Promising review (for the rainbow film): "My kitchen window is on the sidewalk near the community mailboxes. Lots of people walking by. I loathe mini blinds which collect dust and grease. Especially since the stove is next to the window. Curtains are better, but still collect cooking smells and grease particles. I installed this in about ten minutes. It lets in light, but hides me from nosy people." —Gayle Smith
