1. Use an empty (old) pillowcase to dust off your fan's blades.

Do this at the beginning, then vacuum your carpet. And if you do this near your bed, consider covering your bed with a top sheet you don't plan to sleep on (at least not until you wash it), so you don't end up with dust all over the place you sleep. From here.

2. Banish any lingering carpet stains with vinegar, water, and your iron.

Just make sure you don't ~rub~ at the stain too much, because that could mess up your carpet's fibers. Here's the tutorial.

3. Run your pillows (including your decorative pillows, if they don't have lots of sewn-on embellishments) through the dryer with dryer balls or a dryer sheet.

It will help them smell ~fresh~, and make them fluffier. If you have more time, you can run the pillows you sleep on through the washer, too — here's how to make it work.

4. Wipe down all of your wood furniture with dusting spray.

I know, simple, right? But it will make your room smell fresh, and keep dust from gathering on your furniture in the future. Here's a DIY recipe, or you can use a store-bought brand like Pledge.

5. Wipe off any dirty spots on your walls (like the area around your switch plate) using soap, water, and a soft cloth.

Clean your switch plate, too, just be careful not to get any water in the crack between the plate and the switch. Here's the tutorial.

6. Run a lint roller over your fabric lampshades to pick up all the dust.

So fast and easy. While you're at it, you can also run it over your curtains if they're a little dusty, too. From here.
