Michael Jackson's Favorite Chair On eBay For Sale

Five years after the death of Michael Jackson, a makeup-stained chair from the bedroom where the pop star died is for sale once again. The antique chair once sat next to Jackson’s bed in his rented Los Angeles mansion until his death on June 25, 2009. It now belongs to Brian Mayes, a Nashville-area businessman who lives in Spring Hill. "It was his favorite chair, according to Paris Jackson," In 2011, furniture from Jackson’s Holmby Hills home was auctioned off online. However, the auction company made no mention of the pop star’s name. “Nobody really knew what they were selling. It was just some old guy’s stuff as far as most buyers were concerned,” Mayes told News 2. Mayes said he was tipped off ahead of time that the auction was Jackson's belongings. He said he identified some key pieces, specifically the chair which was made infamous by crime scene photos shown during the trial of Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray. - See more at: http://www.nashville.com/news/nashville-community/nashville-man-lists-michael-jacksons-favorite-chair-on-ebay-video

Tim McGraw Starts The Year “Looking For That Girl”

Coming on the heels of three consecutive #1 hits and a sold out tour in 2013, Tim McGraw is riding momentum into the new year with brand new music. “Lookin’ For That Girl,” the lead single from his next Big Machine Records release, is available to radio today and to fans for purchase at iTunes on Jan. 21. Entertainment Weekly is offering a first listen of the song available here. “This last year was unbelievable, and I don’t have any plans to let off the gas now. We didn’t want to waste any time getting new music out,” said McGraw. “With every album, my approach is to push a few of my own boundaries and try things I’ve never done before. It was hard to choose a lead single off this project because I really felt like we had six or seven good options. I kept coming back to ‘Lookin For That Girl’ because even though it may be a little different for me sonically, I couldn’t get it out of my head!”

Gilligan Island Movie Features Some Big Stars

It would appear that the seven castaways of "Gilligan's Island" have hit the shores of Hollywood as the much beloved television series is being anchored as a star vessel for none other than Josh Gad, who's currently delighting audiences as the voice of Olaf the Snowman in "Frozen" (he'll also co-write the script). Gilligan's Island chronicled the bumbling misadventures of seven castaways as they attempted to survive on an island in the middle of nowhere, with most of their escape attempts thwarted by the bumbling yet lovable antics of First Mate Gilligan (Bob Denver). The original sitcom ran for three seasons on CBS from September 26, 1964, to September 4, 1967, followed by three made-for-television movies: "Rescue From Gilligan's Island" (1978), "The Castaways on Gilligan's Island" (1979) and, of course, "The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island" (1981). Martin Landau played the bad guy in that last one. While the show was about as goofy as you could get, there have been some darker interpretations of the characters and the premise over the years, with one being that the castaways are archetypes of the Seven Deadly Sins: Gluttony (Gilligan), Wrath (the Skipper), Greed (Thurston Howell III, 'the Millionaire'), Sloth (Eunice Howell, 'his Wife'), Lust (Ginger Grant, 'the movie star'), Pride (Professor Roy Hinkley) and Envy (Mary Anne Summers). We'll let David Fincher take care of a "Gilligan's Island" adaptation that explores that kind of stuff but for now, we've got a "Gilligan's Island" that's going to star the guy who plays Elder Arnold Cunningham in Broadway's "The Book of Mormon." Here's where we picture Josh Gad in the ensemble, along with some fantasy co-stars... See more at : http://www.nashville.com/news/national-news/gilligans-island-movie-features-some-big-stars

Americana Still Going Strong : Country Music

Jonny Fritz started off the evening with a bang and had the crowd singing along by the end of his set. The momentum continued with Caitlin Rose partly because Steel Guitar wiz Spencer Cullem Jr. stayed on stage for her set. Tristen, a fine artist in her own right, assisted her good friend on backup vocals. The Bottle Rockets were up next and were able to play an extended set due to the cancellation of the next act. They were playing to a packed house by the end of their set.
