Coconut water and oil for health!

By now, the benefits of coconut water and coconut oil are pretty well-known. I was first introduced to the deliciousness of the coconut as a kid but only started drinking coconut water on a regular basis a few years ago. To my knowledge, it wasn't always available in most stores, but now you can find it just about everywhere. There are some great brands, such as Vita Coco (which also makes coconut oil), Goya and C2O, just to name a few.

For a light boost to energy, coconut water is great. Studies have shown that it helps to improve blood circulation.

It's also been used for intravenous hydration in emergency medical situations.*

There are various opinions on the taste of coconut. It has a different flavor when warm as opposed to cold. And, naturally, most store-bought brands are going to have a different taste than, say, harvesting the water yourself.

In my experience, it is best chilled and mixes well with other beverages, as shown by many brands having coconut-blend choices.

Coconut oil seemingly has more beauty uses than the water. Oil pulling has become popular in recent years, and coconut oil seems to be a favorite choice among many. It tastes fantastic, so there's that added benefit.

The oil is also used on the skin as a moisturizer. For some, it can be too oily for regular use by itself, while others swear by it and use it on a daily basis. As with any skin-care product, it all depends on skin type.

Using it for the hair is also popular, and it can add a nice scent to whatever is used for regular care, or it can be used alone. There are various ways to use it on tresses depending on the texture, and it's best to research those rather than just dumping on.

These are just a few of the uses of coconut water and coconut oil. There are countless recipes online for uses in cooking, hair care, skin care and general health.
