The reason why it's been around for so long is that the story never gets old. It stays fresh every season with all of the new companions and leads introduced. There's endless possibilities for what the series can explore.

    2. All of the regenerations.

    BBC / Via

No matter what your initial thought is of the new regenerations, every incarnation of the Doctor grows on you. You'll embrace him like an old friend.

"Ugh, I'm not sure if I'll like Matt Smith. David Tennant was my fav--"

    3. The Time Lord himself.

    BBC / Via

Some regenerations of the Doctor are darker than most, but his wit, charm, intelligence, and overall compassion for all living things keeps you watching. You'll follow him on any adventure, no matter how dangerous.

    4. The TARDIS.

    BBC / Via

Time and Relative Dimension(s) in Space. Want to see the creation of the universe? OK, Cool. How about meet your favorite Victorian author? It will only take a second. Basically you can go anywhere you want to go throughout time and space, with the flick of a switch. COUNT ME IN, ALWAYS.

    6. The villains.

    BBC / Via

Just like the companions, the villains in Doctor Who are another reason why the series is so exciting. The Daleks (and their feared creator Davros), the Cybermen, THE MASTER, the Sontarans, the Silence, etc, etc, etc. You never know what mysterious things you'll come across...who knew that there was even a Devil in space?
