John Cena Explained How He "Accidentally" Ended Up With A Role In Margot Robbie's "Barbie" Movie, And It's Adorable

"I think Barbie and Fast X share a lot of parallels."

I bet you didn't expect you'd see John Cena in the upcoming Barbie movie.

I find out a new person will be in this movie every week.

On the Today show to promote Fast X, John shared the moment he landed a role in the new Margot Robbie movie as a "happy accident."

"I think Barbie and Fast X share a lot of parallels. Their cast lists are amazing. The Barbie cast is amazing," he said. "So, with a lot of opportunity, it was a chance for maybe to, 'Hey, would you guys be willing to have me if I could do something?'"

He explained to Hoda Kotb that he "kind of" pitched himself, and it's pretty hilarious. "In an accidental run-in with Margot Robbie, I said, 'I will pretty much do whatever you guys need, 'cause I really enjoy the movie.'"

Imagine accidentally running into Margot Robbie. On second thought, imagine accidentally running into John Cena. Ouch.

"And they asked me if I wanted to be a merman. I said yeah, sure," John explained.

A merman?! This is Halle Bailey and John Cena's year.

Of course, John and Margot also both know each other and are friends, as the two worked together on 2021's The Suicide Squad.
